Nissan and SunPower Plan for the Future

The future Nissan Leaf will gain Sun Power. The Japanese auto maker, supplying EV and hybrid vehicles to Dick Scott Nissan in 42175 Michigan Avenue, Canton MI, 48188, has joined forced with SunPower.

SunPower Corp. wants Nissan Leaf owners to benefits by having their residential solar power system attached to homes, allowing those who own EV's to recharge their vehicles AND power home appliances with solar energy.

SunPower's systems keep charging costs down for EV drivers, and can cut carbon emissions by using sunlight, the renewable energy for homes, instead of electricity produced in traditional ways. Educational materials include website content, as well as video tutorial.

"Solar power is a reliable, cost-effective technology for homeowners today," said SunPower CEO Tom Werner. "High efficiency SunPower systems are guaranteed to perform over the long term, maximizing the power generated and the monthly savings."1

"Nissan LEAF owners are conscientious about their energy use, and it makes sense for them to understand how they can offset the power that their all-electric LEAF requires with clean, renewable solar power generated from their own rooftop."2
