2012 Detroit Auto Show Report: the New Nissan Electric Van
Published Wednesday, 25 January, 2012 by Blog Admin. Categories: News.
Last month, Dick Scott Nissan told you what to expect from the Japanese auto manufacturer at the 2012 North American Auto Show in Detroit. One of the vehicles we mentioned was the Nissan e-NV200 Concept- an electric van with a ton of personality. We're happy to let you know that we now have more information about this innovative, family-friendly vehicle.
The e-NV 200 Concept is closely related to the all-electric Nissan Leaf, with which it shares its electric motor and similar design styling. The new van concept even has a similar electric range as the Leaf-around 73 miles for every full battery charge. So, what's new about this new all-electric van? Well, it's Nissan's first EV van for one, and, for two, it's slated to become NYC's official taxi cab in 2013. That's right, you can cruise the streets of New York in style, readers.
Although the e-NV 200 Concept's platform is essentially a commercial one, Nissan hopes that families and private users will take interest, in addition to its targeted business owners. The e-NV 200 Concept is certainly roomy and stylishly-equipped, so it will be no surprise if families take notice. The new concept will continue to be tested through a partnership with FedEx and with the Japan Post Service to tweak the vehicle before it officially arrives in 2013.
