We've spent a lot of time talking about the new-found popularity and success of the LEAF EV here on the Dick Scott Nissan blog, but this actually isn't the first electric vehicle to come from the brand.  The first EV from the Japanese automaker was actually built in 1947.  Don't believe us?  Read on.

In one of our recent posts here on the Dick Scott Nissan blog, we shared with our readers the news that sales of the LEAF EV had surpassed 50,000 units, marking a big milestone for the car and for electric vehicles in the auto industry.  Today we'd like to share more exciting news about this ultra-efficient vehicle with our readers in the Canton, MI area: it has just been named to the top spot on KBB.com's 10 Best Green Cars of 2013 list.

By making eco-friendly models like the LEAF, Nissan helps customers in the greater Novi, Ann Arbor, Plymouth, and Farmington Hills areas to reduce their environmental impact.  However, going green goes beyond just going longer between gas station visits, and the Japanese automaker is committed to reducing the energy and resources that go into building the quality new vehicles that come onto our lot here at Dick Scott Nissan.

Who would have guessed that the Nissan LEAF is only the tip of an iceberg. Nissan's ultimate goal is to develop a zero-emission society. The Japanese automaker doesn't really see any alternative and is hosting more discussions regarding this topic. So, you might ask yourself what would a zero-emission society look like?
